Tour Plan

We wait for you at the port of Tangier and we begin our route to Chefchaouen or Chaouen as many call it, located in the only intercontinental natural park declared a biosphere nature reserve. It is a town hanging on the mountain painted white and blue, populated by wise, kind and respectful people, and that offers visitors beautiful urban landscapes, beautiful samples of local crafts, peace and serenity that today is difficult to find in another side of the world, Chefchaouen is known as the “blue city” the name of the city derives from a Berber name ‘Chef Chaouen’ ‘which means“ look at the horns ’

We say goodbye to the rich world of Chefchaouen and we will go to Fez, one of the imperial cities that is proud to host one of the oldest universities in the world. On the way, we will visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, very well preserved. We can also see a panoramic view of Moulay Idriss, the holy city where we will eat and in the afternoon we will arrive in Fez to enjoy the sunset while we visit the walls and doors of its medina or simply have welcome tea from the Riad’s Terrace.
Accommodation in Riad

After a rich breakfast in the Riad, we begin our guided tour of the medina, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Its labyrinthine streets structured by potters’ guilds, dyers and the bustle of its people will transport us centuries ago. We will notice that it is a medieval city and that time has stopped on the clock ‘’ the Magana Bounania ’’ 1200 years after its construction. Wonderful! Not far from Fez, we will cross Ifrane, known as “Switzerland of Moroccoí” for European style and its climate that allows the practice of skiing and other winter sports. It is also a residential center, and we continue towards the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas.
Hotel accommodation.

Today is a new day full day of adventures and varied landscapes, the road crosses the High Atlas and we quickly enter the Great South. The land becomes arid, with spectacular geological formations and deep valleys, such as the Ziz valley, huge green spots in the middle of the desert. We will begin to observe mud architecture, palm trees, and some distant kasbahs. We are at the gates of the desert. Arriving at the impressive dunes of Merzouga, Erg Chebbi Desert. Where we will change the car for animal traction ‘’ Dromedaries ‘’ to enter the heart of the desert and contemplate an unforgettable sunset.
with the dromedaries to the camp where we will stay in Desert Camp Berber Tents ’Tents made of dromedary wool‘ ’like those used by desert nomads. Dinner and night in the heart of the desert under a spectacular blanket of stars. Next to a campfire and with the sound of Berber drums.

After breakfast in your Riad, you can take a little exploration of the local area before the start of your camel trip; You will visit the Gnawa people – originally from Mali, Senegal and Sudan – in their village Khamlia, where you will learn about their music and their lifestyle. Afterwards, we will drive in the desert area to meet nomadic families to explore their way of life. Today our lunch will be a traditional Berber meal (Berber pizza). You will also have the option to visit the ancient city of Rissani – the foundation of the Alawite dynasty – the current ruling royal family of Morocco. Rissani is surrounded by about 360 ksars (a fortified town with many towers) and has a large souk (open market), which took place three times a week. Once called Sijilmassa, which was the meeting place of salt caravans, coming from Timbuktu in Mali. Here you can walk through the souk, selling spices, vegetables, and cloths. Travel back to the village of Merzouga. In the afternoon, you will ride your camel, a camel guided by an experienced man to explore what is hidden in the middle of the highest dunes of Morocco. Dinner will be served in front of the tent where you will spend the night.

Early wake up in the morning to see the amazing sunrise over the dunes, then we take the camelback to our hotel in Merzouga center, where the breakfast and shower provided. This was not our first time going to here. It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
