14 DAYS DESERT SEA AND MOUNTAINS TOUR FROM MARRAKECH

Day 1: TRANSFERT FROM THE AIRPORT to the Riad

Your driver guide will meet you at the airport and transfer your to your accommodation in Marrakech

Day 2: MARRAKECH GUIDED CITY TOUR

After breakfast in the riad , you can start exploring Marrakech ” the red city of Morocco”. We will ensure that you see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace. After lunch at a restaurant near the square, you will walk through the souks and view hundreds of handicrafts. In the afternoon, you will have some free time to wander by yourself through the other parts of the city.

Day 3: MARRAKECH – KASBAH AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE

Morning departure at 8 o’clock from your hotel or riad in Marrakesh to cross the High Atlas Mountains. After the Tichka pass, you leave the main road and take a side road to the Telouet
Kasbah, which belonged to the Lords of the Atlas, the Glaoui family, and which now stands in ruins after the last Pasha fled the country following the departure of the French. From there you continue for lunch at Ait Ben Haddou along the newly asphalted connecting road. This is the most famous Kasbah in Morocco and is a UNESCO World Heritage site, which we visit after lunch. Later we continue as far as Ouarzazate to spend the night in a riad there.

Day 4: OUARZAZATE – DADES VALLEY

After breakfast, you set out towards the Dades Gorge, passing the Skoura Oasis, where numerous ancient kasbahs, some sadly in ruins, stand amongst the palm trees. From here, our route takes us through Kela’a M’gouna, the Valley of Roses, famous for its Rose Festival in May. Here we stop to see the cosmetic articles which are made locally from the valley’s abundant flowers. These products are well-known throughout Morocco and are highly valued. From here, you take an off-road route to have a better impression of the landscape. Along the way, you will stop at caves, used by whichever Berber nomads happen to pass and claim residence there. We will have a glass of tea with them before continuing to the Dades Gorge for lunch. This leaves you half a day to walk in the valley, or to spend it relaxing or simply strolling by the fields and gardens.

Day 5: DADES –baba nali

After breakfast, hike 2 hours around the edge of Wadi Dades, near the fingers of monkey. Return by road to Boumalne then trail of about passing through the tizi n’tazazert.saghro mountain . Arrival in babb nalli Dinner and overnight in tents .

Day 6&7: 2 Days dedicated to explore the anti-atlas mountains and the berber villages around.

Trekking and hiking day with mountain guide who will take in an adventure day to explore the hidden villages and meet the local nomads living in the mountains of the anti-atlas. You will enjoy a beautiful and unique landscapes of the rocky volcano mountians, visit to a local nomad and enjoy a mint tea with them, enjoy a picnique lunch with your guide.

Day 8: Nkob to mehamid

From here our route takes us to the Dra’a Valley, which we join at Tansikht and where we turn south to Zagora. The road follows the ancient caravan route between Dra’a vally and the mountains and gives a view of the gardens and kasbahs in the valley. We stop in erg lyhoudi mhamid , where you will have a camel ride and dinner in a bivouac of nomad tents.

Day 9: MEHAMID -CHEGAGA

After breakfast return to M’hamid, across the now usually dry Dra’a River, to visit the old
village. In the afternoon, the 4×4 takes us to the Erg Chagaga dunes, travelling some 60km
off-road. This route passes different features of the desert: ‘erg’, ‘reg’, ‘hammada’, and the
Sacred Oasis to dunes far away from civilization, in the desert proper where the silence and
the expanse of sand is overwhelming. . Dinner and the night are in a bivouac of nomadic tents

Day 10: CHEGAGAG- TAROUDADNT

After breakfast we drive another 90 km across the Sahara over the stony desert, “reg” and
“hammada” and across the now dried-up Lake Iriqui. In the middle of this lake, we can search for fossils. At the edge of the desert at Foum Zguid, we drive north to Taznakht, famous for its Berber gelims and carpets, where we stop for lunch. After crossing the Tizi-n-Ikhsane and Tizi-n-Tighatine passes, we reach Taliouine, the heart of the saffron growing region. The road takes us on to taroudant.

Day 11: TAROUDANT- ESSAOUIRA

In the morning there is a visit to the town known as “the little Marrakesh”. It is spectacular for its massive ramparts and beautiful medina. From here you travel along the Souss river valley with all its argane groves as far as Agadir. The road then travels up the coast, driving through Taghazout and through the mountains. On arriving in Essaouira, you can explore the town, the Skala, the medina and all its innumerable shops as well as the sea front with its fresh fish restaurants. we will spend the night in Essaouira.

Day 12: ESSAOUIRA- FREE DAY

Free day to explore the medina of Essauira by your own pace.

Day 13: ESSOUIRA -MARRAKECH

After breakfast, we will drive to Marrakech through the argan forest, after 2H30 driving we will reach Marrakech, where you will visit the majorel gardens and have a free afternoon for your last shopping or just relax in your hotel.

Day 14: TRANSFERT TO THE AIRPORT

Depends on your flight time, we will take you to the airport for your return flight.
